GREENWIN's Participation in the FutureProofTextiles Kick-off Meeting in Athens

GREENWIN participated in the launch meeting of the FutureProofTextiles project in Athens

On November 11–12, the official kick-off meeting of the international FutureProofTextiles project took place in Athens, implemented with support from the European Union under the Single Market Programme (SMP-COSME). The event brought together all consortium partners and marked the beginning of three years of collaboration aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in the textile sector.

The kick-off meeting was held at the University of West Attica (UNIWA) under the leadership of Professor Ioannis Sarris. Partners presented their organizations, outlined their vision for the work, and agreed on the first steps for project implementation.

As a reminder, the consortium includes universities, industrial associations, business clusters, and R&D centers from Greece, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Ukraine.

The GREENWIN team presented the company's activities in cleantech, waste processing initiatives, R&D programs, and successful experience in European innovation projects.

Key Meeting Outcomes

During the two-day sessions, partners:

  • Agreed on the work package structure
  • Defined approaches for training programmes and consultations
  • Coordinated the communication and dissemination plan
  • Approved the first draft of the upcoming FSTP grant call announcement (cascading funding)
  • Formed working groups for ongoing collaboration

The event laid the foundation for effective cooperation throughout the 36 months of the project. Next steps include the development of:

  • Training webinars and programmes for SMEs
  • Communication strategy for the project
  • Preparation and launch of the open grant call
  • Methodological materials for SMEs in sustainable textile production
